Would You Pay Over $100 To A Mortgage Order Mill For A Background Check? Is This A Scam?

I have had several recent telephone calls from field service inspectors who believe that they are being scammed by mortgage order mills. Everyone knows that 99% of all businesses in the United States do NOT require a job applicant to pay for a background check. Field inspectors tell me that when a mortgage order mills requires payment for a background check, it must be a SCAM.

I have never paid for a background check. Have you? Some of the mortgage order mills are charging over $100 for a background check.

So what do you think? Should the field service inspector applicant have to pay for a background check? Which field service firms are demanding payment for a background check? Are you signing up with them? Are you paying upfront fees and not getting any work?
